Ron Hills is Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Administration at the University of New England. With degrees in music and natural therapies, his research now focuses on computational modeling of lipid-protein interactions and the role of lipids and nutraceuticals in health and disease.
Research integrates computational approaches with biochemical investigations to study membrane biophysics, lipid metabolism, and nutraceutical mechanisms. Current projects examine microbial metabolism in the gut microbiome and membrane transport protein dynamics.
Publications demonstrate expertise in molecular dynamics simulations, coarse-grained modeling, and biophysical characterization of lipid systems. Recent work has explored gut microbiome interactions with diet and implications for metabolic diseases.
Professor Hills teaches biochemistry and mentors graduate students in computational biophysics. He leads the Hills Laboratory investigating molecular mechanisms underlying lipid-related disorders.
