Romana Sammers is a Lecturer and Programme Coordinator at the Department of Fine Arts & Design, Mozarteum University Salzburg. She specializes in art history, focusing on intersections between body, image, and medicine in the early modern period. Her roles include coordinating the 'Figurations of Transition' program under the inter-university initiative Science & Art between the University of Salzburg and Mozarteum University.
Education: Completed studies in history, cultural studies, and art history at Salzburg, Vienna, and Berlin universities. Doctorate (Dr.phil.) from Humboldt University Berlin (2011) on 17th–18th century depictions of prostitution, published as Hurenbilder (2014).
