Prof. Rolf Weder is a Professor of International Economics at the University of Basel, Switzerland, and has held leadership roles including Dean of Studies (2004-2015) and Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics (2019-2023). He earned a Licentiate in Economics from the University of St. Gallen (1984), followed by postdoctoral research and teaching roles in Canada before joining Basel in 2000. His research focuses on globalization effects, European integration, trade-environment linkages, and Swiss-EU relations. Notable work includes pioneering studies on the 'Economics of Extinction' and deindustrialization in Switzerland.
