Roger Subirà is an architect and academic, currently serving as Professor of Aesthetics and Projects at the La Salle School of Architecture, Universitat Ramón Llull. He has held significant roles in architectural institutions including director of the 2016 Architecture Congress of the College of Architects of Catalonia and coordinator of the UIA-UNESCO Barcelona 2026 candidacy for World Capital of Architecture.
His educational background includes:

Roger Subirà's research and professional work spans architecture, urban planning, and cultural heritage. He has authored studies on the architecture of the Modern Movement, contributed to the dissemination of architecture through publications and exhibitions, and has been instrumental in heritage protection initiatives including the declaration of several buildings as Cultural Heritage of National Interest (BCIN). His work also extends to landscape architecture, as evidenced by his drafting of the syllabus for the new Landscape Degree at La Salle URL.

As an educator, Subirà has taught at La Salle School of Architecture and served as a guest lecturer at institutions such as the Universidade da Cidade in Sao Paolo, Brazil, and the RCR BUNKA Foundation Summer Workshop in Olot. He has coordinated significant programs including the 40th-anniversary commemoration of the Institut Català del Sòl (INCASOL) and the UIA-UNESCO Barcelona 2026 candidacy. His research has been supported by grants including participation in the INNOVA Concrete Programme under Horizon 2020 of the European Commission.
He currently combines his academic role with professional practice in the Backyard Collective (with Narcís Font), focusing on the design and construction of interior and exterior spaces. Additionally, he has curated exhibitions at various institutions including the Museu Marítim de Barcelona and the College of Architects of Barcelona, Tarragona and Figueres.
