Roger Soenksen is a Professor at James Madison University (JMU), holding a joint appointment between the School of Media Arts and Design (SMAD) and the School of Communication (SCOM). He has been a faculty member since 1976, serving as debate coach and Director of Forensics until 1994. His teaching focuses on Communication Law, Free Speech, Legal Communication, and Media Arts & Design. He was appointed as JMU’s Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) in 2006, a role he continues under current leadership.
