Roger Patulny

Roger Patulny is a Professor in the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Hong Kong Baptist University, where he actively contributes to sociological research and academic leadership within the Academy of Geography, Sociology and International Studies.

His scholarly work critically examines modern social dynamics through key thematic clusters:

• Housing systems and policy, including social mix in public housing
• Emotional and relational phenomena: loneliness, social isolation, sociology of emotions, and emotion management
• Social cohesion frameworks: social capital, inclusion, connection, and trust
• Contemporary labor and network studies: unemployment, future of work, gendered networks, and volunteering
• Digital society transformations through digital interaction

Professor Patulny's interdisciplinary approach bridges theoretical sociology with urgent real-world applications in urban living and social well-being, maintaining active scholarly engagement as evidenced by his current university affiliation.
