Roger Grabowski is a Professor of Speech and General Studies at Lakeland University Japan (LUJ), where he has served for two decades. He currently holds the role of Undergraduate Program Chair and is a key organizer of the Lakeland Lecture Series and the Annual Conference on Global Higher Education. His work focuses on enhancing academic communication, fostering international educational exchange, and community engagement through讲座 and conferences. He pioneered the Lakeland Lecture Series in 2008 to fulfill accreditation requirements, adapting it to online formats during the pandemic while maintaining global participation.
Grabowski’s academic contributions include advancing global perspectives in education through the Annual Conference on Global Higher Education, now in its 10th year, which attracts scholars from over a dozen countries. Notable highlights include presentations on cross-cultural educational exchanges, such as a case study involving U.S. students in Japan. His teaching philosophy emphasizes audience engagement in public speaking, advocating for natural delivery, clear organization, and personal connection to topics.
Outside academia, he is a father of three, a Chicago Cubs enthusiast, and an avid guitarist. His leadership in LUJ’s programs has solidified his role as a foundational figure in the institution’s academic and community outreach initiatives.
