Roger Buser

Roger Buser is a part-time Lecturer at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU), affiliated with the Institute for Building Services and Energy (IGE) and the Center for Integrated Building Services (ZIG) since 2016. He holds an 80% workload role focused on electrical engineering in building services, while concurrently conducting electrical inspections at az-technics and volunteer solar education initiatives in Ethiopia.

Education & Career

• Vocational Training: Electrician apprenticeship (1984–1988) and Electrical Engineering diploma from Higher Technical College Muttenz (1988–1991).
• Professional Development: Vocational teaching certification from Swiss Institute of Vocational Education (1996–1998).
• Prior Roles: Vocational school teacher and IT manager at Berufsbildungszentrum Fricktal (1996–2016), where he pioneered programs for gifted students and solar installer training.

Research & Innovation

Buser leads projects in renewable energy and building technology, including:

• Development of the research facility 'GEE Live' for building services engineering.
• EVO-Tool (self-consumption optimization software) and GreenPV (building envelope potential analysis).
• International solar education modules in Africa and bidirectional EV charging systems.
