معرفی
Roger Bonnecaze is the Dean of the Cockrell School of Engineering and a Professor of Chemical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. He holds the Cockrell Family Regents Chair in Engineering and leads research in complex fluid dynamics, materials science, and nanotechnology. His work bridges experimental, computational, and theoretical approaches to address challenges in fluid mechanics, soft matter physics, and industrial processes.
- Affiliations: Core faculty in NASCENT (NSF Nanosystems Engineering Research Center), affiliated with The Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences, and core faculty at the Texas Materials Institute.
- Education: B.S. from Cornell University (1985), M.S. and Ph.D. from Caltech (1987, 1991), followed by a postdoc at the University of Cambridge.
His research focuses on rheology of soft-particle pastes, suspension transport, microrheology of cancer cells, and advanced materials design. Key achievements include pioneering studies on thixotropy, shear-induced phase transitions, and nanoimprint lithography.
Recipient of prestigious awards such as the Thomas Baron Award (2011), Packard Fellowship (1994), and NSF Young Investigator Award (1993). He has advised numerous graduate students and contributed to over 150 publications, emphasizing interdisciplinary applications in energy, healthcare, and manufacturing.
Labs/Teams: Leads the Bonnecaze Research Group, focusing on complex fluids, biomaterials, and nanomanufacturing systems.
