Roger Alford

Roger Alford is Professor of Law at Notre Dame Law School with concurrent appointment in the Keough School of Global Affairs. His expertise spans international trade, arbitration, and antitrust law.

Education background includes:

• J.D. with Honors from New York University
• LL.M. from Edinburgh University
• B.A. with Honors from Baylor University

Research examines competition policy in digital markets, enforcement mechanisms for international arbitration, and treaty implementation frameworks. Current work addresses intermediary power in digital advertising markets and empirical patterns in arbitration award enforcement.

Publications show dual focus on tech antitrust and arbitration system efficacy, with methodological emphasis on empirical legal studies.

Holds affiliations with Kellogg Institute for International Studies and Nanovic Institute for European Studies. Previously served as Deputy Assistant Attorney General for International Affairs at the U.S. Department of Justice (2017-2019).
