Rod Chapman

Rod Chapman is a Visiting Professor at the Department of Computer Science, University of York, and currently affiliated with Amazon Web Services (AWS) since September 2022. He holds an MEng (1991) and DPhil (1995) from the University of York and has extensive experience in high-integrity software development, including a 19-year tenure at Praxis, where he advanced from graduate to principal engineer.

At Praxis, Rod led the development of the SPARK programming language and verification tools, contributing to advancements in reliable software engineering. He is an SEI-certified PSP Instructor and has been an independent consultant in high-integrity software since 2014.
