Dr. Robyn Pilcher is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the School of Accounting at Curtin University, Western Australia, and Director of the Public Sector Accountability and Disclosure Research Cluster. She previously served as a lecturer at Charles Sturt University. Her roles include teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, curriculum development, and managing distance education initiatives. She holds a PhD from the University of Sydney and professional certifications such as FCPA and PNA.
Research & Interests: Her work focuses on public sector accounting, performance measurement, compliance, and governance. Key areas include local government reporting, IFRS implementation, and asset management. She employs both qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
Teaching & Awards: Robyn has taught management accounting, public policy, and research methods. She received the Curtin Business School Excellence in Teaching Award (2010–2013), the Emerald Best Paper Award (2009), and induction into Beta Gamma Sigma (2006).
Publications: Over 20 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, including a 2018 Routledge publication on global public sector governance. Her work addresses topics like differential reporting, internal audit roles, and performance measurement systems in diverse contexts.
Affiliations: Member of CPA Australia, AFAANZ, ANZAM, and other professional bodies. She chairs the Accountability Interest Group (AFAANZ) and serves on the IPAA Council.
