Professor Robina Xavier serves as Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Academic) at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), based in Brisbane, Australia. With over 25 years of experience in tertiary education, she previously held the role of Executive Dean at QUT Business School. Her doctoral studies focused on crisis management, and she has extensive consulting experience in corporate and financial relations. She is a Senior Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia, a Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA), and the Queensland Academy of Arts and Sciences. Her research interests include crisis management, ethical decision making, and stakeholder engagement in public relations.
Professor Xavier holds advanced qualifications, including a PhD in Responses, Relationships, and Responsibility (QUT), Master of Business (Research), Bachelor of Business (Communication), and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment.
Her research and professional contributions have been recognized with awards such as the 2008 Australian Learning and Teaching Council Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning. She has served on international committees, including those for the Association of Advanced Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). She has also chaired the PRIA’s National Education Committee and contributed to accreditation standards for university programs.
Professor Xavier’s work bridges academic leadership, public policy, and industry collaboration. Her publications span crisis communication, stakeholder engagement, and educational methodologies, reflecting her commitment to advancing public relations practice and academic rigor.
