Robin de Kruijff

Robin de Kruijff is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Delft University of Technology, where she is affiliated with the Department of Radiation Science & Technology and works at the Reactor Institute. Her research centers on the development and application of medical radionuclides, with a focus on production, separation, and therapeutic use in oncology and complex systems.

Research Interests: Dr. de Kruijff’s work spans several cutting-edge areas in nuclear medicine and radiochemistry. She investigates innovative routes for producing and purifying medical radioisotopes such as ⁶⁸Ga, ⁶⁴Cu, ⁹⁹Mo, ¹⁶⁶Ho, and ²²⁵Ac. A major focus is on targeted alpha therapy, particularly using polymeric nanocarriers like polymersomes to deliver ²²⁵Ac while retaining its recoiling daughter nuclides to enhance treatment safety and efficacy. She also applies radiotracers to study mineral behavior in complex environments. Her research integrates chemistry, materials science, and biomedical engineering.

The recent publications highlight a strong trajectory in separation science and nanocarrier-based delivery systems. There is a clear focus on microfluidic and polymer-based technologies for purifying Ac-225 and Sc-47, and on understanding the in vivo behavior of radiopharmaceuticals. Her work bridges fundamental radiochemistry with translational medical applications.
