Robin Wharton

Robin Wharton serves as Assistant Director of Writing and Communication at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she oversees curriculum development and innovative pedagogical initiatives within the Writing and Communication Program.

Her academic credentials include a law degree (1999) and PhD (2009), both earned at the University of Georgia. Prior professional experience encompasses clerking for U.S. District Court Judge Curtis L. Collier and practicing intellectual property law at a prominent Atlanta firm.

Dr. Wharton's research synthesizes law, literature, and digital media through interdisciplinary lenses. Her primary investigations examine common law poetics in Middle English writing, digital technology's impact on multimodal communication instruction, and adaptation of performing arts pedagogical methods for higher education. She actively publishes on law and ethics in digital humanities contexts while maintaining legal consulting practice in new media matters.

Current work focuses on hybrid pedagogy implementation through Georgia Tech's learning management system pilot program, which integrates face-to-face and online learning strategies to optimize educational environments in first-year composition and technical communication courses.
