Robin Stone is a professor in the Guitar Department at Berklee College of Music, where she has taught since 1990, becoming the second woman ever hired by the department. She specializes in the history and playing styles of classic rock guitarists including Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, and the Allman Brothers.

Stone serves as managing editor and web designer of "Open Position," the Guitar Department's online newsletter, where she contributes "String Theory" articles exploring harmonic concepts for guitarists. Her compositional work includes "Adagio for Oboe and String Orchestra" (1993), recorded by the Radio Slovak Symphony Orchestra.
Her notable recognition includes:

Stone holds a Bachelor of Music in Professional Music from Berklee (1983) and a Master of Music in Jazz Studies from New England Conservatory (1988), where she studied composition with William Thomas McKinley and George Russell. She graduated with academic honors and is a member of the Phi Kappa Lambda music honors society. She is also active as a performer with her band Hylander Stone, which released the album "Kalyanamitra".
