Robin Perutz is Professor of Chemistry at the University of York's Department of Chemistry. His research spans organometallic photochemistry, small molecule activation, catalysis, solar fuels, and transition metal fluoride chemistry. He pioneered the σ-CAM mechanism and developed methods for C-F bond activation, with applications in sustainable chemistry.
Perutz has led significant collaborative projects with institutions including CNRS Toulouse and Cambridge University. Awards include the Nyholm Medal, Sacconi Medal, and election as Fellow of the Royal Society (2010). He mentors a diverse research group focusing on reaction mechanisms, spectroscopy, and energy conversion.
