Robin Gut is a doctoral candidate and research assistant at the Centre for Democracy Studies Aarau (ZDA), University of Zurich, since April 2021. His doctoral research focuses on referendums in non- and semi-democratic countries globally, contributing to the development of the Referendum Database (RDB). He teaches the BA seminar «Fifty Shades of Democracy» and supports evaluations of citizen panel projects at ZDA, studying youth political behavior and climate policy engagement. He holds a Master’s in Political Science from UZH, specializing in Democracy, Development, and International Relations.
Education:
- Bachelor’s in Political Science and Contemporary History (University of Zurich, 2009–2014)
- Mono-Master in Political Science (University of Zurich, 2015–2018)
Research Interests: Democracy measurement, direct democracy mechanisms, youth political engagement, and new forms of citizen participation. His work emphasizes empirical studies on voting behavior, political maturity in youth, and institutional frameworks for participatory governance.
