Roberto L. Benardi

Roberto L. Benardi is a Contract Professor at the Libera Università degli Studi Internazionali (UNINT) of Rome, specifically within the Faculty of Interpreting and Translation (FIT). He has held this position since 2000, teaching courses such as technical-scientific translation, legal-constitutional translation, and French literature of the 19th and 20th centuries. His academic roles include visiting professorships at institutions like the Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium), SDI Munich (Germany), and the Sorbonne Nouvelle (France) through Erasmus programs. Additionally, he serves as Public Relations and Affairs Officer at the Canadian Embassy to the Holy See in Rome, focusing on compliance with the Canadian Official Languages Act (OLA).

Benardi holds a PhD in Human Sciences from the University of Montreal (1999) and a degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures from IULM University in Milan. His research interests span communication and editorial language in Italian, French, and English, as well as travel literature, otherness, and exoticism in 19th and 21st century works. He has also contributed to academic conferences, including a 2019 presentation on "Specialized Discourse and Multimedia" at the University of Salento.

Outside academia, he served as a language consultant for Edizioni EGI Ltée in Quebec until 2016 and volunteered for Amnesty International's Italian Section (2011). His multilingual expertise (French, English, Italian, Spanish) underpins his professional and academic engagements.
