Dr. Roberto Kulpa is an Associate Professor of Interdisciplinary Social Studies at the School of Applied Sciences, Edinburgh Napier University. His research focuses on:
- Gender and sexuality studies
- Queer and feminist social movements
- Intersections of nationalism and sexual politics
- Decolonial epistemologies in Central and Eastern Europe
- Friendship as a method for social resilience
His recent research explores anti-gender politics across Europe through the EU-funded RESIST project (2022-2026). He co-leads the MSc Applied Social Research program and has served as an expert evaluator for EU Horizon 2020 and national research councils.
Scientific awards include:
- Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy
He supervises doctoral researchers on topics including:
- LGBTQ+ community resilience
- Trans* social resilience in Poland
- Drag queen history in Poland
