Roberto Gabriele is a Full Professor of Applied Economics at the Department of Economics and Management (DEM), University of Trento. He holds a PhD in Economics and Management from Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna (Pisa) and a Laurea degree from University of Rome 'La Sapienza'. His research focuses on Program Evaluation, Industrial Policy, Economics of Innovation, and Agent-Based Modeling. He has served as a researcher and lecturer at the University of Trento since 2003, advancing through roles including Assistant Professor (2005-2015), Associate Professor (2015-2020), and Full Professor (2020-present).
His research interests include evaluating public policies, analyzing firm dynamics, and exploring the impact of innovation and digitalization on economic performance. He collaborates with institutions like IrCres CNR, SIEPI, and SIE, and serves as an external member at Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies. Current research projects include studies on managerial training’s impact on firm resilience, green performance in automotive supply chains, and semiconductor industry diversification.
His work spans policy evaluation, industrial strategy, and computational methods. Notable themes in his recent publications include teleworking during the pandemic, energy transition policy impacts, and the role of collaboration agreements in SME growth. His contributions emphasize data-driven policy design and spatial analysis of economic phenomena.
