Roberto Cardella

Roberto Cardella is a Research Fellow at CERN and a PhD candidate at the University of Oslo. He contributes to the STREAM ITN project as ESR 09, focusing on the design and testing of large-area CMOS pixel detector prototypes for the ATLAS experiment.

Research Focus: Roberto's work centers on advancing CMOS sensor technology for high-energy physics, including the development of the MALTA and LAPA chips. His contributions involve optimizing data transmission systems, reducing detector material budgets, and improving radiation tolerance.

Key Projects: He designed the LAPA buffer circuit for 5 Gbit/s data transfer, validated MALTA's monolithic pixel sensors, and conducted irradiation and test beam experiments. His research aligns with HL-LHC upgrade goals for enhanced detector performance.
