Prof. Roberta Ruotolo is an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemical, Life and Environmental Sustainability Sciences, University of Parma. She teaches courses such as Applied Genomics, Recombinant Technologies and Genetic Engineering, and Biotechnology at both first and second cycle degree levels.
Research Interests: Her work focuses on the intersection of genomics, genetic engineering, and nanotechnology, particularly examining how nanomaterials interact with biological systems. Key areas include phytochelatin synthase function in microalgae, the toxicity mechanisms of metal oxide nanoparticles, and their impact on plant and animal physiology.
Recent Publications: Highlighted studies analyze nanomaterial effects on yeast gametogenesis, plant reproductive tissues, and rat cardiac cells, alongside chemogenomic profiling of antiproliferative compounds. These reflect her expertise in environmental genomics and biotechnological applications.
