Roberta Castriconi is an Associate Professor at the Department of Experimental Medicine (DIMES), University of Genoa, specializing in human histology, embryology, and cancer immunology. She teaches courses in Biology II (Cytology, Histology), Histology for Biotechnology, Nursing, and Medicine programs.
- Department: Department of Experimental Medicine (DIMES), University of Genoa
- Teaching Roles: Histology and embryology instruction across multiple degree programs
Her research focuses on natural killer (NK) cell biology, tumor microenvironment interactions, and immunotherapy development. Recent work explores NK cell heterogeneity, B7-H3 targeting in pediatric cancers, and hydrogel-based 3D cancer models for preclinical testing. She investigates the role of monocytes/macrophages in neuroblastoma progression and strategies to enhance NK cell anti-tumor activity.
Current research trends highlight interdisciplinary approaches bridging immunology, oncology, and biotechnology to understand tumor-immune dynamics and develop novel therapeutic strategies. Publications emphasize translational studies from single-cell analysis to in vitro models.
