Robert Verf is a Dutch/Argentine artist and lecturer in painting and drawing at the Department of Art, Universidad Torcuato Di Tella in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He has previously taught at the University of Texas at Austin and is scheduled to be a visiting scholar at Princeton in October 2025, where he will research the theme of vanitas in the art of the Global South.
His research interests lie at the intersection of aesthetics, urban ethnography, and transdisciplinary practices. He explores the European diaspora in Latin America and fosters collaborations between art and science, working with musicians and scientists from institutions such as the University of Turku, University of Buenos Aires, and University of Toulouse. His artistic practice is deeply engaged with cultural and historical narratives.
Robert Verf was nominated for the Regent’s Outstanding Teaching Award during his tenure at the University of Texas at Austin. His artistic contributions include the publication of El Momento / The Moment (2012) and a major 2022 exhibition at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Argentina, where he dialogued with the museum's permanent collection.
He has collaborated on interdisciplinary projects with scientists and artists internationally, reflecting a strong commitment to integrative and socially informed art practices.
