Robert Sladek, MD is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, McGill University, and an Associate Investigator in the Metabolic Disorders and Complications Program at the RI-MUHC. He works within the Department of Medicine, specifically the Division of Endocrinology at MUHC.
Research Focus: Dr. Sladek investigates how genetic mutations contribute to diabetes pathogenesis. His group develops genomic approaches to identify diabetes-associated variations, studies RNA splicing effects, and explores gene-protein interactions in cell metabolism. Collaborative projects span North America, Europe, and Asia, addressing global diabetes/obesity challenges.
Recent Publications examine genetic determinants of metabolic diseases, with specific emphasis on type 2 diabetes, insulin signaling, and sterol metabolism. Collaborations include international consortia like CHARGE and Wellcome Open Research teams.
