Dr. Robert Shcherbakov is an Associate Professor in Earth Sciences and Physics at Western University, specializing in statistical seismology. His research develops physics-based stochastic models and machine learning methods to analyze natural and induced seismicity, with applications in earthquake forecasting, hazard assessment, and mining safety.
Current projects include supervised learning for earthquake declustering, Hawkes process modeling of mining-induced seismicity, and physics-based aftershock forecasting. He directs the Laboratory for Physics and Statistics of Earthquakes and teaches geophysical modeling courses.
