Associate Professor Robert Parkes is an internationally recognized expert in history education and the founder of the journal Historical Encounters. He currently serves as Interim Head of the School of Education at the University of Newcastle, where he also leads the HERMES Research Network. His work focuses on historical consciousness, curriculum theory, and the intersection of martial arts with historical pedagogy.
