Robert Michael Kunovich

Dr. Robert Michael Kunovich is a Professor of Sociology and Distinguished Teaching Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), Department of Sociology and Anthropology. He has held academic positions at UTA since 2004, progressing from Assistant to Associate and full Professor. His research spans science, technology, risk perception, social inequality, nationalism, and Eastern European sociopolitical dynamics. He specializes in statistical methods like multilevel modeling and structural equation modeling. Dr. Kunovich has advised numerous graduate students and holds leadership roles in academic committees, including the College of Liberal Arts Tenure and Promotion Committee and Sociology Program Director. His teaching focuses on social statistics, risk analysis, and research design. Recognized for teaching excellence, he received the Academy of Distinguished Teachers award (2013) and College of Liberal Arts Outstanding Teacher Award (2012). His recent work examines public trust in science, immigration attitudes, and life course perspectives on poverty.
