Robert M. Bauer

Robert M. Bauer is a Professor at the Institute for Organization within the Business School of Johannes Kepler University Linz, Austria. He has been engaged in business research and teaching at JKU since 1990 and served as a visiting professor at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto during 1998-1999 and 2004-2006.

His research focuses on Innovation Management, encompassing creative processes, corporate innovation management, design thinking, and regional innovation ecosystems. Additionally, he investigates Digital Platforms and Crowds, examining digital platforms as organizational forms, platform-based digital crowds, and management of digital transformations. His findings are presented at leading international conferences and published in renowned journals across German-speaking countries and North America.

Professor Bauer serves as a keynote speaker and advises top management in Europe, North America, and China. He teaches multiple courses including Dissertation Colloquium in Business Administration, Master's Thesis Seminar, and specialized courses on Digital Transformation and Platform Economy for both lecture-style (KS) and seminar-style (SE) formats.
