Robert Kunkel

Robert Kunkel is a distinguished Professor in the Department of Finance and Business Law at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, College of Business. He holds the Alberta S. Kimball Endowed Professorship and has served as Department Chair (2006–2009). His academic expertise spans commercial banking, investments, market efficiency, and personal finance.

Kunkel’s research focuses on financial regulations, stock market anomalies, and corporate governance. He also explores calendar anomalies in Russian and Ukrainian markets.

His scientific awards include the Penson Award (2017). He serves on editorial boards for Managerial Finance and Journal of Business and Economic Perspectives, and participates in community investment committees (Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, Lutheran Homes of Oshkosh). Kunkel’s career includes seven years in finance industry roles and prior academic positions at Eastern Illinois University and Western Illinois University.
