Robert Kanser

Robert Kanser, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the UNC School of Medicine, affiliated with the Department of Neurology. He works as a neuropsychologist for the Neurology Huntington Disease Clinic and focuses on traumatic brain injury (TBI) and related cognitive impairments.

• Education: PhD in Clinical Psychology from Wayne State University
• Predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship in Neuropsychology at James A Haley Veterans' Hospital

Research Interests include traumatic brain injury, acquired brain injury, aging and dementia, Parkinson's disease, movement disorders, and rehabilitation strategies post-TBI. His work explores performance validity testing, cognitive assessment methodologies, and neuropsychological evaluation tools for neurocognitive disorders.

Publications focus on performance validity in TBI, pupillometry applications, memory testing, and validity research designs. These span from 2017 to 2025 across journals like Clinical Neuropsychology and Neuropsychology.
