Robert K. Grala

Dr. Robert K. Grala is the George L. Switzer Professor of Forestry at Mississippi State University's Forest and Wildlife Research Center (FWRC). He holds a PhD in Forestry from Iowa State University, an MS in Environmental Science from the University of Manchester, and an MS in Forestry from Warsaw Agricultural University. His research focuses on forest economics, community development through forest resources, carbon sequestration economics, and valuation of non-market ecosystem services. Dr. Grala is actively involved in agroforestry research, particularly windbreak systems' economic impacts.

His educational background includes diverse institutions across three continents, reflecting his interdisciplinary approach to forestry challenges. Recent research has addressed wildfire management, landowner decision-making in conservation programs, and bioenergy potential from forest residues.
