معرفی
Robert Hepach is an Associate Professor of Developmental Psychology and Tutorial Fellow at New College, University of Oxford. His research focuses on social cognition and motivation in early childhood, examining how infants and young children develop cooperative behaviors through understanding social interactions. He employs experimental paradigms involving eye tracking, pupillometry, and depth sensor imaging to study internal mechanisms like emotional valence and memory encoding.
Recent projects include investigating the affective mechanisms of joint attention in infancy (2020–2023) and cross-cultural variations in prosocial emotions. His work explores topics such as infants' object memory development, emotional expression measurement via body posture, and the influence of social contexts on decision-making.
Hepach’s research spans developmental psychology subdomains, including prosocial behavior ontogeny, theory of mind, and physiological correlates of cognitive processes. His studies often involve multi-method approaches and cross-cultural comparisons, leveraging collaborations with institutions globally. He has published extensively on topics like risk preferences in children, word learning mechanisms, and the neurophysiological underpinnings of social emotions.
