Robert Expert

Robert Expert, a renowned countertenor and academic, serves as Professor of Baroque Singing at the Lyon National Higher Conservatory of Music and Dance (CNSMD Lyon) since 2017 and Professor of Lyric Singing at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels since 2023. A Premier Prix graduate of the CNSM in Paris, he has performed extensively across Europe, Canada, and Japan with prestigious orchestras, operas, and recital ensembles. His career spans over 25 years of teaching in master classes and conservatoires, including the CRR in Paris and CNSMDP, and he co-authored the book La voix chantée - Entre sciences et pratiques.

Education:

• Diploma in Musical Acoustics from the CNSMD in Paris

His research focuses on vocal acoustics, pedagogy, and historical musicology, often intersecting with practical performance. He contributes to scientific research protocols on the voice and delivers lectures on these topics. A dedicated educator, he also teaches singing at Pôle Sup 93 and develops distance learning programs for singing teachers.

Robert's teaching engagements include master classes at the Festival des Arcs for 18 years and roles at the CMBV and La Chaise-Dieu. He collaborates with the CNFPT on educational initiatives and participates in cultural programs like Eve Ruggieri's Musiques au Coeur and France 2's shows with Patricia Petibon.
