Robert Elmes

Robert Elmes is an Associate Professor and Associate Dean of Research in the Faculty of Science & Engineering at Maynooth University, where he leads research in the Department of Chemistry. He earned his B.A. Mod. in Medicinal Chemistry and PhD in Medicinal and Supramolecular Chemistry from Trinity College Dublin, followed by postdoctoral work at Trinity College and the University of Sydney focusing on anion recognition and sensing platforms.

His research integrates supramolecular chemistry, chemical biology, and medicinal chemistry to develop biomimetic materials for diagnostic tools, drug delivery systems, antitumor therapeutics, and environmental sensors.
