Robert E A Williams

Robert E A Williams is an Associate Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at The Ohio State University. He serves as the Assistant Director for Research and Development at the Center for Electron Microscopy and Analysis (CEMAS), where he focuses on strategic partnerships, educational resource development, and advanced electron microscopy techniques.

Robert specializes in high-resolution electron microscopy, with expertise in scanning electron microscopy (SEM), dual-beam focused ion beam (DB-FIB) microscopy, three-dimensional serial sectioning, and in-situ mechanical testing. His research spans inorganic and organic materials, emphasizing nano-analytical characterization of metallic systems and oxide-based spintronic materials.

At CEMAS, he oversees aberration-corrected (S)TEMs, advises on development opportunities, and teaches the next generation of researchers in electron microscopy theory and application. He has co-authored over 40 peer-reviewed papers and delivered more than 30 professional presentations.
