Robert D. Howe is the Abbott and James Lawrence Professor of Engineering at Harvard University's John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS). He co-directs the Harvard MS/MBA program and leads the BioRobotics Lab. His primary teaching focuses on Materials Science and Mechanical Engineering.
Research interests span advanced robotics, biomedical engineering, and human-machine interaction. Notable work includes developing adaptive exosuits for walking assistance and exploring AI applications in personalized advertising. His lab emphasizes interdisciplinary innovation, merging engineering with craftsmanship and entrepreneurship.
