Robert Cromer is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the College of Science and Mathematics. His research focuses on vertebrate ecology, with particular emphasis on wildlife biology, conservation strategies, and ecosystem dynamics.
- Education: PhD and MS in Forest Management/Forest Resources Management (Clemson University), BS in Biology (University of South Carolina Aiken)
Dr. Cromer's research explores:
- Wildlife interactions in fire-adapted ecosystems
- Vector-borne disease dynamics linked to deer populations
- Telemetry applications in turtle behavior studies
- Distribution patterns of rare Appalachian mammals
His publications from 2010-2012 demonstrate a focus on conservation biology, habitat assessment, and interspecies dynamics. Recent work connects forest management practices to avian and mammalian biodiversity.
Dr. Cromer has served on the BIOL 1108 Lab Development Committee, College Curriculum Committee, and University Study Abroad Committee from 2016-2017. He also contributes to community environmental initiatives as a member of the Friends of the Euchee Creek Greenway.
