Robert Courtois is a Professor of Psychopathology and Clinical Psychology at the University of Tours, affiliated with the Quality of Life and Psychological Health Research Unit (QualiPsy). He holds a joint part-time position as a psychiatrist at the Tours University Hospital (CRIAVS Centre-Val de Loire). His research focuses on sexual violence, intimate partner violence, harassment, and sexual addiction, with emphasis on their psychological and social impacts. He leads major projects including the ANR-funded FRIDA study on young adults' sexual behaviors and the SE&SR prevention program against intimate partner violence.
Education: M.D. and Ph.D. in Psychology, including advanced training at the University of Bordeaux, Sorbonne, and the École Pratique des Hautes Études. Specialization in clinical psychology and psychopathology.
Research Interests: Sexual violence mechanisms, cyberporn addiction, risk assessment for offenders, transdiagnostic psychiatric models, and prevention strategies. His work integrates quantitative methods with machine learning and psychometric validation.
