Robert Coleman is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at the University of South Alabama, where he also serves as Assistant Dean of Arts & Sciences. His research spans digital humanities, U.S. literatures, literary aesthetics, and rhetorics.

His editorial work includes Everyday Theory: A Contemporary Reader (Pearson Longman, 2005) and Scribbling Women and the Form of the Short Story (Peter Lang, 2008). Publications analyze works by Harriet Prescott Spofford, James Branch Cabell, and themes in Mark Twain's literature.
