Dr Robert Cattley is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Huddersfield, affiliated with the School of Computing and Engineering and Centre for Efficiency and Performance Engineering. His research focuses on industrial condition monitoring, fault detection in mechanical systems, and energy harvesting technologies.

Research interests span rotor dynamics, diesel engine diagnostics, wind turbine condition monitoring, and multivariate statistical analysis. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals for affordable clean energy and industrial innovation.
Recent publications demonstrate expertise in machine learning applications for fault detection, wavelet packet analysis of turbine blades, and energy regeneration systems for combustion engines. Collaborations extend to institutions in China, Norway, and the UK.
