معرفی
Robert A. Fesen is a Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Dartmouth College, specializing in observational astronomy. His research focuses on supernovae, their remnants, and interstellar phenomena such as emission nebulae and planetary nebulae.
- B.S. in Physics, Villanova University (1971)
- M.S. in Astronomy, University of Hawaii (1973)
- Ph.D. in Astronomy, University of Michigan (1981)
His work explores high-energy astrophysical events, including circumstellar interactions, shock dynamics in supernova remnants, and emission line spectroscopy across UV and optical wavelengths. Key publications analyze supernovae like SN 2017eaw and SN 1941C, emphasizing late-time evolution and interstellar medium interactions.
Professor Fesen has held visiting roles at the University of Texas at Dallas and JILA (University of Colorado, Boulder), and served on the Board of Directors for the SALT telescope (2001-2010) and as Acting Director of MDM Observatory (1995-1996).
