Rob Hicks is a Professor at The College of William and Mary with joint appointments in the Department of Economics and the School of Marine Science. He also serves as a faculty affiliate in the Environmental Science and Policy Program and the Thomas Jefferson Program in Public Policy. His career includes visiting professorships at Germany's University of Bonn, University of Hannover, and Spain's University of the Balearic Islands.
He holds a B.A. from North Carolina State University and a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland. His research focuses on environmental and natural resource economics, welfare economics, and applied econometrics, employing rigorous statistical methods to analyze policy impacts on ecosystems and human welfare. This work bridges theoretical economics with practical sustainability challenges.
