Rob Doggett is a Professor of English at the State University of New York at Geneseo, Department of English and Creative Writing, since 2005. He specializes in 20th-century British and Irish literature, with a focus on William Butler Yeats. His research explores themes of empire and nationalism in Yeats' poetry and drama.
Education: Ph.D. in English from the University of Maryland (2002).
Research interests include Irish literary history, Yeats' poetic and dramatic works, and the intersection of colonialism and national identity in literature.
Awards: Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching (2011) and Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Faculty Service (2018).
Advising/grants: Organizes biennial study tours to Ireland for Geneseo students, focusing on the Yeats International Summer School. Founded the Genesee Valley Peace Poetry Contest (2005–2015).
Labs/teams: Editor of the Journal of International Yeats Studies and coordinator of Yeats-related academic initiatives.
