Rita Griffiths is a Research Fellow at the Institute for Policy Research (IPR), University of Bath since 2018. She holds a PhD in Social Policy (2016) and has 25+ years of experience in social research design and delivery. Her work focuses on low-income populations' financial decision-making, welfare system interactions, and Universal Credit policy impacts. Current roles include IPR Fellow and Visitor.
Key research areas include: financial management within households, welfare system navigation challenges, Universal Credit implementation effects, and work-care balancing strategies. Her expertise aligns with UN SDG 1 (No Poverty) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
Recent projects include studies funded by Abrdn Financial Fairness Trust and Economic and Social Research Council, examining Universal Credit automation, council tax reduction interactions, and work incentives.
