Rita Gentile

Rita Gentile, an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Voice at Carthage College’s School of Music, specializes in teaching Applied Voice, Vocal Music Methods, and Music Education Philosophies. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from Boston University and dual master’s degrees from Carthage College in Education and Music Theatre Vocal Pedagogy. As a performer, she has appeared as a soloist with the Kenosha Symphony and at Carnegie Hall, blending classical and contemporary vocal styles.

Her research interests include vocal performance techniques, choral pedagogy, and popular music education. Rita supervises choral student teachers and directs choirs at Indian Trail High School and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish, where she has served for over 17 years.

Scientific awards include:

• Young Choral Director of the Year (2013)
• NATS Freshman Collegiate Category Winner (2003)

As founder of RG Performing Arts Studio in Kenosha, she mentors future vocal arts students through the Giada Marie Gentile Memorial Endowed Scholarship she established with her husband.
