Riley Lovejoy serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences within the Howard College of Arts and Sciences at Samford University. - PhD and MS from The University of Alabama
- BS from Judson College
As a community ecologist, Dr. Lovejoy's research program centers on understanding how native ecological communities respond to invasive species and other environmental stressors, with a particular focus on aquatic and terrestrial invertebrates. Currently, she is conducting field studies on the invasive zebra mussel (Dreissena polymorpha) in Alabama's waterways to assess its distribution and ecological impacts. Beyond her research, she is deeply committed to science communication and actively mentors students by connecting them with professional development resources and experiential learning opportunities.
