Rikke Vestergaard Matthiesen is an Associate Professor at the Department of Materials and Production, Faculty of Engineering and Science, Aalborg University. Her research focuses on Advanced Manufacturing Technologies, Lean Production, Healthcare Operations, and Machine Learning Applications. She leads and participates in projects addressing topics like surgical duration prediction, Industry 4.0 capabilities, and quality management in healthcare laboratories.
Key projects include 'TEFFIC: Transforming Educational Programmes For Future Industry 4.0 Capabilities' (2018–2021) and 'Optimization of Quality Management Systems in Hospital Laboratories' (ongoing). She has collaborated on the 'International Manufacturing Strategy Survey 2013' and contributed to understanding Lean transformation challenges in multinational companies.
