Rik van Noord is an Assistant Professor in Humane AI at the Faculty of Arts, University of Groningen, specializing in Computational Linguistics, Natural Language Processing, and Large Language Models. His work bridges AI technology with societal impact, particularly in educational contexts.

Research Interests include:
- Natural Language Processing for multilingual and under-resourced languages
- Large Language Models (e.g., ChatGPT) and their societal implications
- AI in Education, focusing on ethical integration and productivity impacts
- Semantic Parsing and cross-lingual representation systems
Recent Publications span top-tier venues like COLING, ACL, and TACL, emphasizing multilingual NLP, resource development, and AI ethics. He co-organized the CrowdMT workshop at EAMT2023 and contributed to the Parallel Meaning Bank project.
